Dan is the Lead Consultant for New Markets at Cornwall Insight. He has eight years’ experience in the energy market, working on a range of roles including retail, wholesale, and regulation. Dan has assessed Power Purchase Agreements, advised on retail market landscaping, business models and market entry, led projects on supplier costs and third-party charges, performed due diligence on energy businesses, and delivered projects on local energy. He also delivers a range of training courses on topics including subsidy-free renewables, delivery models for local energy, network charging reform, and the decarbonisation of the heat sector.

  • advising market participants on the impacts of network charging reform, non-commodity costs, energy licensing and exemptions, regulatory and industry governance assessments

Dan works with a range of established players and energy innovators, helping them understand the GB energy space and the implications any changes or modifications to industry rules will have on their businesses.

Outside of work, Dan can occasionally be found discussing network charging reform over an ale (he just can’t help himself). Otherwise, he is a busy dad for two young daughters, keeping up to date with the latest dinosaur fossil finds and discoveries, and playing or watching rugby and football.
