Montel News | UK gas to hit “uncharted territory” in April as virus grips

Our Senior Consultant Craig Lowery discussed the drop in gas prices due to COVID-19. According to Craig UK gas prices were set to hit “uncharted territory” this month, slumping to fresh lows amid muted demand.

He explained that “End-users have scaled back demand, so the requirement for fuel generation has dropped markedly”. Going further he said it would be “really hard” to gauge how the market would develop over the coming weeks and months.

There is potential for cooler temperatures in April but the impact of social distancing means it’s hard to take a view of any bullish news on the horizon.
